BIOGRAPHY

CHELSEA BREMNER is coming off two outstanding seasons of Farah Palmer Cup rugby for Canterbury and looks ready to take the next step up.

The contracted lock began her sporting career in netball, taking up rugby in 2015. She and younger sister, Alana, who is the Canterbury skipper, both brought up their 50 game milestones for their Lincoln University club in 2020.

But they also have four straight Farah Palmer Cup titles to their credit too, and Chelsea was named 2019 Farah Palmer Cup Player of the Year. That saw her win a trip to Fiji with the New Zealand Development XV, where she appeared in all three games for the team.

In 2020, Bremner formed an effective locking combination with Canadian international Cindy Nelles for Canterbury. Bremner’s seven games now give her 31 for her union in her still young career.

Bremner made her Black Ferns debut alongside her sister in their Pacific Four Series opener against Australia in Tauranga in 2022.
